A limited edition of 50 unique prints created from four screens oriented in different ways, sometimes overlaid multiple times, with each print made from a unique combination of colours. Additionally Parris directly intervened into the printing process, working directly on the paper to make rubbed and scratched marks and hand applied drips and runs of ink. Sitting between their abstract painting studio practice and the repetitive mechanics of screen printing, this series of unique prints represents a new development for Parris which heralds an exciting beginning for the artist’s exploration of printed work.
Daisy Parris' works often are centered around text and combine abstract mark making in a vernacular that has developed through experience, relationships and through the depths and the peaks of their human existence thus far. Parris brings intimacy, insight and integrity to their works with great psychological and emotional force. Their works are imbued with the sensitivity of someone who feels everything, often taking us through unflinching narratives and moments of reflection with tenderness. An ode to human existence, their work is sometimes silent, sometimes savage, with works that construct self portraits of personal battles and triumphs in a fast moving yet contemplative assault on the paper.
